Начальный эксперимент использует Processing для обработки видео файлов. Программа рисует прямоугольник на каждом двужущемся объекте. / The first experiment was an attempt to use Processing for working with video. This program draws a red rectangle over each moving object.

Several videos was used as a source. The videos used in this experiment was made from the top of the Tower Bridge. The grid was imposed on the image. Each of its elements reacted to moving objects. Thus each moving object left a trace of the movement.

Для этой работы были собраны реальные данные, получившие гео привязку. Используя очки с фильтром можно видеть наложение разных городских слоев. / The set of flows chosen for the work includes real social media data,All the information collected in central Moscow through the period, received a geographical binding and a unified design code. Using filter glasses different layers can be seen.
Этот проект посвящен стуктуризации всех потоков городской жизни. Первое изображение показывает все события воспринимаемые человеческими сенорами. / One image presents the cross-section of the city from the Earth core to deep space, operating only the visual knowledge. Moreover, it visually links each flow to the physical position in space-time.
Второе изображение демонстриует ту же локацию, но описываемую исключительно потоками. / The second image uses this information as a base for projecting the flows. It creates a different city appearance and pattern.

Для машины были выбраны два типа потоков - активность в социальных сетях и точки доступа общественного сигнала wi-fi. Каждая типология событий получила свой визуальный код. / For the final piece, the Machine two flow types were chosen - the social network activity and wi-fi signal spots. Each event type has it's own design code.
Этот проект пытается изучить городскую ткань, используя внедренное в этой работе понятие “потоков”. Термин “потоки”, включает данные различных медиа, разнообразных физических процессов, социальную и интеракивную активность. В целях исследования все явления были разделены на категории: видимые, невидимые физические, медиа-человек, медиа-машина и приватные. Все эти потоки собраны и спроецированы на карту города. Географическое положение каждого события используется в качестве связи между видимыми и невидимыми слоями города.
Во время работы были выполнены различные эксперименты включая скрипты в Processing, которые могут проанализировать видимые преобразования и взаимодействовать с данными в режими реального времени. Финальный "продукт" назван “Машиной” и является устройством основанном на механизме струйного принтера, которое может преобразовать собранные данные, используя собственный визуальный язык, в своего рода узор сделанный на песке.
Цель состоит в том, чтобы создать процесс, который одновременно показывает все проекции города, состоящие из всех событий, происходящих там. Это результат размышления о городской текучести и роли медиа как контролируещего и изменяющегося инструмента. Работа показывает невидимую область городских связей между людьми, машинами и свеми частями города.
Древний форум был центром городской коммуникации, эта работа ищет путь найти форум новый - невидимый, но не менее реальный.
This project attempts to study the urban fabric using the concept of “flows”. The term “flows” adopted here includes media data of various kinds, different physical processes, social and internet activity. For the purposes of the study, the different phenomena were divided into a series of categories. Each group was arranged with four criteria: scale, speed, time and predictability. All these flows are collected are projected on the map of the city. The geographical position of each event is there- fore used as a point of connection between the visible and invisible layers of the city.
During the work various experiments were carried out including Processing scripts that can analyze visible transformations and interact with the data. The final demonstration piece, which is simply called the “The Machine”, is a printer based device that can transform the collected data into pattern made on a bed of sand. The Machine uses its own visual language which turns the way it interacts with data into an independent performance.
The aim is to create a process that simultaneously reveals all the patterns of the city, consisting of all the events happening there. It reflects an idea of the city in terms of fluidity and the importance of media as a communication, control and responsive tool. It shows the invisible field of urban communications between people, machines and other parts of the city. Somewhat like the historical notion of a forum this is a place of mass urban conversation where the whole city is represented.
